Speaker 1:
May big things have all our intersest,
Yet may happiness come from small things.
It is a palm full of water that serves the thirsty, best,
though inspirations are drawn from the sight of springs.
Speaker 2:
May big things have all our intersest,
Yet may happiness come from small things.
Though what filled his two palms gave him zest,
It's what slipped between fingers that set his spirits to wings.
Which among the two verses could be perhaps spoken by a male?

I know not of the gender of thy speaker. The only thing I can surmise is that the first seems to dwell on things surreal, whereas the other seems to on events real.
You are right, the latter talks about events that have happened in abundance on this earth. :)
Both speakers speak about what fills the palm. The former calls it the small thing that gives great happiness, the latter calls it a big that gives inspiration(zest)!!
Perspectives!!
It’s nice to note that both the speakers accept the fact that a palm full of water quenches the thirst. If I were to say that a speaker is male and the other female it’s a good start that the base point is agreed in common :)
I think Speaker 1 is a male due to the need to see the bigger picture for inspiration. The need to see a spring for any brainwave. A palm full of water not being enough to spark a zestful thought.
Speaker 2 is a female. The few tiny drops that escaped the palm full of water gave the picture of freedom. Which gave her the strength to spread her wings. Not the water escaping from the mountains and making a spring, but just few drops of water.
wow! what a perspective i say! Loved it...wish I could think on these intricate lines(esp speaker 2)when I wrote this.
My perspective: When the speaker 2 said palm full, a palm full of water was not intended.
When he said "filled the palms", he meant "her" face that he holds in his palms - which gives him the zest, motivation and all that.
When he said "slipped between the fingers", he meant "her" fingers that entwine with his - an act which i consider as a very sign of emotional closeness and love.
Needless to say, i meant speaker 2 is a male. :)

after reading ur explanation i went back to the poem.. the diff interpretation amazes me :)
